The capture and deaths of thousands of North Koreans, affected many people and families.

One of the consequences for the North Koreans was the capture and deaths of thousands of North Korean troops. This was a social change...for other troops, for families, for friends and for people who worked with those troops. This would be hardest for the families of those as they would never see their family member again, family support each other and spend time together. Of course, there is dramatic change when a family member is not there anymore. Friends would also be facing a big change - friends spend a lot of time together, support each other and talk to each other about issues. Especially the North Korean troops still alive - it is difficult mentally for a North Korean troop and is often lonely, and friends in the defence force make it easier for them. It gives them someone to just fulfil their social need with. To replace those North Koreans killed, wounded and captured, there would be more troops coming in and serving. This creates social change for the families, friends, employers and acquaintances of the new troops who have left their normal life to serve in the Korean War. And this affects the new troops friends/families/etc as much as the ones who had been injured and captures friends/families/etc. Thousands were killed and many, many more people than that were socially affected.
